A New Property? Help Needed with prayers and fundraising.

Dear members of the Buddha House Community,

As those of you who attended the AGM on Sunday will know, Buddha House has the opportunity to purchase a property in Adelaide which would become the permanent heart of our community.

In order to create the causes and conditions for this to become our new Buddha House we need your help.  

We need help in two areas:

1. Performing Buddhist Practises as advised by Lama Zopa Rinpoche. 
2. Fundraising Activities.

1. Offering help with Buddhist practice:

Some of you have already asked what practices can be done to help create the causes and conditions to achieve success for the centre. Outlined below are the practices Lama Zopa Rinpoche has advised us to do, to remove obstacles for the purchase of a new property: 

1. Guru Rinpoche prayer "removing obstacles" as much as possible, www.fpmt.org/projects/padmasambhava/pdf/guru_rinpoche__prayer_to_clear_obstacles.pdf  
2. Recite Golden Light Sutra: www.fpmt.org/teachers/zopa/advice/goldenlight.asp

4. Nagarjuna's Praise to 4 Arm Mahakala, as well as other protector prayers, to be found in the FPMT prayerbook, volume 2.

To create the conditions for wealth it is good to recite or write the Sanghata Sutra. It can be downloaded from: www.fpmt.org/Teachers/Zopa/advice/sanghatasutra.asp  

If you are interested in writing it in gold you can download a suitable copy from Download a larger-font version that can be copied out by hand - 148 pages (pdf). www.sanghatasutra.net/english_translation_final_handwriting.pdf  or you can pick up a copy or however many pages you can do from Buddha House office. 

A number of these practices require a significant devotion of time, and we appreciate any time you can give.

The property goes up for sale this week, so we need to move fast. 

2. Fundraising Activities:

We will be launching a full Fundraising Campaign in due course, but for now we need the help of some volunteers to assist with serving Chai and Cake this weekend.

On Sunday 30 November, Buddha House has a chai and cake stall at the Picnic in the Park - the closing event for Feast (the Gay and Lesbian Festival).
