De-Tong Ling Retreat Centre

De-Tong Ling Retreat Centre Inc. is a sister centre of Buddha House and sits on 1200 acres of wilderness at the western end of Kangaroo Island. The pure air, water, untouched land and silence of the pristine environment provide ideal conditions for retreat.

Five retreat houses will be operational in 2009, available for short and longterm retreat, while ‘Yacca Creeks', a parcel of land immediately adjacent to the centre, provides facilities for group retreat. Within walking distance is the 14 metre high Enlightenment Stupa being built on De-Tong Ling, overlooking the enormous blue dam, the bushland and the sea.

On February 7th a dedicated group of supporters gathered at Buddha House on a very hot day to begin the process of rolling thousands of mantras to go inside the vase section of the stupa, along with sacred texts, tsa-tsas and relics. With many more mantras to be rolled, it would be fantastic to see as many people as possible involved in this very worthwhile project while learning a new Dharma skill. Watch the Buddha House Program for more mantra rolling days - they are planned for every Sunday 1pm - 4pm.
