Geshe-la to Teach DB Module "Samsara & Nirvana"

The Discovering Buddhism module, ‘Samsara and Nirvana’ will be presented in June and July this year.  It is quite a broad and complex topic and I am very happy to announce that Geshe Pema Tsering has kindly agreed to teach this module.

This is a great opportunity to connect with Buddha House’s resident teacher and the most knowledgeable source.  In the past some students have been a little hesitant to attend Geshela’s programs for fear of being ‘out of their depth’.  Generally, there is nothing being taught at Buddha House a person who has attended ‘Introduction to Buddhism’ could not attend.  We are all beginners and so fortunate to be able to receive teachings from an unbroken lineage of teachers.

Geshela and his translator Rodrigo are a great team who are totally committed to their work in teaching the Buddha Dharma.  Geshela holds the title of a Larumpa Geshe, it is the highest academic achievement within the Tibetan Monastic system.  He is compassionate, humble and has a wonderful sense of humour.

This is an exciting change, an opportunity to get to know Geshela and Rodrigo, and also an opportunity to meet others in the community who are attending his classes. It’s wonderful that the whole community will be attending teachings together.
