When we offer a Long Life Puja we make prayers and offerings for our teacher to have a long and healthy life. But it is not only for the benefit of the lama; the students themselves have the opportunity to create unimaginable mountains of merit, creating the cause to have our kind and precious teacher remain with us and also to meet with such perfect teachers in future lives until enlightenment is achieved.
All members and students of Buddha House as well as their family (yes, children are welcome), visitors and friends are invited to attend this beautiful and moving ceremony. In March we will have rehearsals once a week so that the singing itself becomes a beautiful offering to Geshe-la. During the Long Life Puja we will present various ritual offerings to Geshe-la, and there are many ways to make your donation towards these offerings.
It is possible that people may have special things that they would like to offer for inclusion in the offering procession, statues, thangkas, special books/texts, objects made of crystal or other precious stones and metals. In fact anything beautiful is very welcome! Ritual offerings for sponsoring (estimated costs):
We request that all offerings be received at the centre by 25 March at the latest - but as early as possible is best, so that suitable plans can be made. Pledges can of course be made immediately, but please make sure that the payment follows quickly. If you are interested in making a specific offering towards these objects we will have more information about the exact costs by the end of January. Contact Ven.
