Lyndy Abram - new SPC at Buddha House

As we enter 2009, Ven Jamyang will hand over the role of Buddha House Spiritual Programs Coordinator (SPC) to Lyndy Abram.

Ven Jamyang has performed the role of SPC with incredible energy and vision over the past year and more.

Our 2008 program was filled with our ‘traditional’ offerings supplemented by fresh new workshops and courses centred on contemporary issues and approaches.   Ven Jamyang, with senior teacher, Jampa Gendun and Geshe-la offered new ways to deliver old truths including revitalising the Basic Program at Buddha House and in a series of regular and weekend workshops. By this, Buddha House made contact with many new students who increased both their knowledge of, and their commitment to, the dharma. The purpose of handing on the SPC role to Lyndy Abram is to release Ven Jamyang from ongoing and demanding SPC organisational tasks, allowing her to focus on time on pastoral care, teaching and community outreach.

Lyndy is not new to the SPC role, having spent 7 years as Buddha House SPC and then 4 years as Buddha House Director in the 1990’s.

Please join me in thanking Ven. Jamyang for the dedication and many, many hours that she gave each and every week during 2008, both as SPC and as a teacher. I ask you to welcome Lyndy as she takes over this very important role. Ven Jamyang and Lyndy will share the SPC role during a transition period.
