The time has come for me to leave Buddha House, as Lama Zopa Rinpoche has advised me that it is time for me to study and meditate. He has recommended studying the Madyamika text, a text on emptiness. I’m very fortunate this text will be taught over the period of 1 ½ year at the Master Program at Instituto Lama Tsong Khapa in Italy from the end of September this year. Saying goodbye hurts, especially when it separates us from those we love. I have had an amazing time at Buddha House, in which I had the good fortune to play the role of SCP and teacher. Both roles I have enjoyed, as it helped me to develop my own qualities and gave me the opportunity to connect with so many lovely people. During my stay at Buddha House I have been deeply touched by the commitment of so many students to the Dharma and their diligence in putting the teachings into practice. It has been a great privilege for me to have been the person who taught the Dharma, and an inspiration to hear and see your dedication to the growth of love and compassion in the Buddha House community and in this world. It was also very heart warming to see how many people gave their time voluntarily to Buddha House and the Dharma. Highlights in organising events were for me the Long Life Puja of Geshe-la, the visits of Ven. Robina in 2007 and 2009 and the visit of Lama Choden Rinpoche in January 2009. The way everybody worked harmoniously together during these events, how you all appreciated each others work and input, how you helped each other and how you all wanted to make the events a success in making the Dharma available to as many beings as possible was wonderful. It has been a pleasure to see so many of you offering your time in the day to day running of the centre. The goals of our teachers are high and sometimes it seems that the work is endless, the tasks needed to be done limitless. At the same time every small action is imperative to complete the whole. I’m grateful to the board of Buddha House and all who have made it possible for me to stay in Adelaide and fulfill Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s wish, which was offering service to Buddha House. Your merit is amazing! I will miss you all dearly. We must have done something good in the past to have had this opportunity to meet in this way. I’m sure we have planted many positive seeds that will cause to meet again in the future.
