). Jampa Ignyen Teaching Program Jan-Feb 2011 |
|
Jampa Ignyen grew up in New Zealand. Following a varied life, including having a family, he decided to follow the spiritual path. Jampa lived and studied in the famed Sera Je Monastery, mastering both Tibetan debating and the intellectual teachings over many years. Later, he achieved his PhD in Buddhist Philosophy in Australia and lectured in Melbourne in Asian studies.
If you have never done this style of meditation, now is a perfect time to begin as Jampa Ignyen has a profound knowledge of the Buddhist teachings combined with a Westerner's understanding for delivering a topic. Bring your daily concerns to this discussion and unthread the path with pragmatic discussion. Senior students will benefit from deeper analysis of the topic. 10am Jampa Ignyen will facilitate a discussion about the Graduated Path topic covered in the meditation. No facility fee (gold coin donation for morning tea appreciated).
Jampa Ignyen will explore the methods and concepts of the Tibetan Buddhist Tantric tradition in a practical, experiential course. An overview of this difficult and often misunderstood subject will be presented through talks, meditation and discussion in an accessible and non-technical way. This course is suitable for beginners; although no prerequisites are required, some understanding of Buddhist terminology and concepts is desirable. Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th February 10am to 6pm. For details please see the course description. $150 waged, $120 concession, $110 members. Lunch, Morning and afternoon tea provided. If you wish to attend the entire Tantra program - costs are $180 waged, $150 concession, $120 members. This covers week nights and weekend teaching.
