Sand Mandala at BH - July 6

The Drati Khangtsen Monks from south India are in Australia as part of the Tour of Universal Responsibility. Everyone is welcome to drop in to Buddha House to witness the construction of the delicate and beautiful sand mandala of Universal Responsibility, Wisdom and Compassion.

Meditation sessions with the monks and Buddha House teachers will be held during the day.

The climax of the event is the dissolution ceremony when the sands are swept up, preserving the blessing of the mandala, and portions of the blessed sand are handed out to onlookers. The final prayers and ceremony are dedicated to bring favourable conditions for the region such as timely rain, harmony and prosperity.

The MANDLA will be constructed in the office/bookshop/library area. All members, friends, families and public are welcome.

The dates are as follows:

FRIDAY JULY 6^TH - (Birthday of His Holiness)
10.00 am to 4.30 pm -  FREE ENTRY
10.30 to 11.30 meditation led by Monk in Gompa - $10
6.30 pm - 7.00 pm - Consecration of our new large prayer wheel
7.00 pm - Guru Puja

SATURDAY JULY 7^TH
10.00 am to 4.30 pm -  FREE ENTRY
10.30am to 11.30 am - Meditation led by Monk in Gompa - $10

SUNDAY JULY 8^TH
10.00 am to 4.30 pm - FREE ENTRY
6.30 pm to 8.45 pm (Sunday) CULTURAL DANCING AND CHANTING AT BUDDHA HOUSE in the Milton Room next door. Intermediate break with chai and cake.
$20 ph, $15 concession children under 15 free

Dissolution of MANDALA at 3.00pm on Sunday at BH..... ALL WELCOME.... The sands will then be transported to Hazelwood park, (Burnside swimming centre) Greenhill road where there will be a (1 HOUR)ceremony conducted by the Monks. The sands will be poured into the body of water that flows through the park so as to bless the region.
