Sutra Reading Saturday 12th February 2-6pm

This Saturday, we will read aloud The Golden Light Sutra in the gompa. It is very moving to read aloud the actual words the Buddha spoke as the real meaning penetrates the subtle mind. Please feel free to come for the entire session 2pm-6pm with breaks, or for a single reading. The session is free.

The sutras were the Buddha's own words and constitute the basis of his teachings to lay and monastic people. They are beautiful! The rhythm and repetition ensures that people then, as now, clearly understand the meaning of the words. It is both soothing and exhilarating to read the words of Gotama so please come along even for a short time to share this experience. Our spiritual Director Lama Zopa Rinpoche has advised us to recite the Golden Light Sutra 106 times, to improve our higher levels of insight and ultimately, bring smoother conditions to the centre.
