Venerable Kaye Miner - January 4th - 12th

ven_kaye_minerVenerable Kaye Miner was born and raised in Australia where she first met Tibetan Buddhism in the early 1980s. She has studied with many renowned Tibetan lamas, most notably Lama Zopa Rinpoche, the founder of the FPMT for whom she worked during 1986-1987 in Kathmandu Nepal.

Kaye became a nun in 1990. From 1991-1996 she was the Spiritual Program Coordinator at Tara Institute in Melbourne and gave teachings at other Tibetan Buddhist centres in Australia while working for various Australian companies. At the request of Lama Zopa Rinpoche, she went to the Netherlands in 1999 to be the resident teacher at Maitreya Institute Amsterdam. In 2007 she taught the famous Kopan November one month Lam Rim course in Nepal. Between 2003 and 2009 she was also director of Maitreya Institute in Emst, the Netherlands.

Without mindfulness, we lack clarity and precision in our lives. Without a good heart, how can we really be helpful to others? This shall be a weekend of meditations on mindfulness and developing a big, open heart. Venerable Kaye Miner will explore with us the application of mindfulness and awareness techniques conjoined with the powerful Buddhist practice of loving kindness and compassion for all living beings. We will also discuss how we are able to implement these mindfulness techniques in life.
Fully catered. Costs: $150 waged, $130 Conc., $110 Buddha House members.

ven_kaye_minerTuesday Jan 11th 7.15pm We consider the making of a wise mind. Is knowledge the same as wisdom? Does knowing more necessarily make you happier? Can ignorance be bliss?
