“A Vision of Totality: An Introduction to Buddhist Tantra”

Jampa IngyenWednesdays, January 19 - February 9, 7.15 - 9pm
Discovering Buddhism 'Tantra' module: no prerequisites needed

Jampa Ignyen will explore the methods and concepts of the Tibetan Buddhist Tantric tradition in a practical, experiential course. An overview of this difficult and often misunderstood subject will be presented through talks, meditation and discussion in an accessible and non-technical way. This course is suitable for beginners; although no prerequisites are required, some understanding of Buddhist terminology and concepts is desirable.

"According to tantra, perfection is not something that is waiting for us somewhere in the future ... Everything that we need in order to be complete is within us right at this very moment. It is simply a matter of being able to recognize it. This is the tantric approach."  - Lama Thubten Yeshe, Introduction to Tantra.

In this module we will explore the methods and concepts of the Tibetan Buddhist tantric tradition. An overview of this difficult and often misunderstood subject will be presented through talks, meditation and discussion in an accessible and non-technical way.

In order to cover the 12 topics included in this module Jampa will teach over 4 Wednesday evenings and a weekend workshop.

For ongoing Discovering Buddhism students to be accredited for completion of this module, all sessions need to be attended. Others can attend one-off sessions.

Facility fee: Wednesday evenings $15 waged, $12 concession, $10 members each night
