Buddha House is affiliated with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT).
This is a great opportunity to connect with Buddha House’s resident teacher and the most knowledgeable source. In the past some students may have been a little hesitant to attend Geshela’s programs for fear of being ‘out of their depth’. Generally, there is nothing being taught at Buddha House a person who has attended ‘Introduction to Buddhism’ could not attend. We are all beginners and so fortunate to be able to receive teachings from an unbroken lineage of teachers.

We warmly welcome the safe return of our Geshe, who delivered a very powerful motivation to an appreciative audience on Tuesday night. Geshe gave a timely reminder that unless we can apply the Dharma to our everyday life then we are achieving very little.
Geshe-la's teaching program is now in full swing, so this occasion is an ideal opportunity to catch up with our fellow classmates.
In my first report as Director, I wish to give a big thank you to our immediate past Director, Lindsay Holmes and his partner Elizabeth for the wonderful job they have done over the last 2 years at Buddha House. Lindsay has tirelessly worked through a difficult period of change ...

Buddha House, Centre for Advanced Buddhist Studies presents an Exciting 2 week program with highly regarded visiting teacher.
Venerable Thubten Gyatso(Dr Adrian Feldmann) is teaching at Buddha House from 31st Jan – 12th Feb 2010.
Thubten Gyatso is well known, having over 35 years experience as a Buddhist teacher, in which time he has written two books, and built monasteries and completed a 3 year solitary retreat on Kangaroo Island. Being an Australian himself, he is easy to relate to and understands the way we think, which is reflected in his style of teaching which is often ververy amusing. His program includes public talks and weekend workshops. Buddha House is very pleased to host Gyatso for a ‘mind blowing’ 2 weeks of teaching from a truly inspirational and knowledgeable practitioner.
Public Talk: “Making Life Meaningful’
An evening talk: ‘Mind, its Nature and its Potential’
An evening talk on ‘Desire – give yourself a break’
Geshe Peme Tsering will return to Australia very early in March. He is spending time with his sick friend from the USA. We wish them both a wonderful sojourn together, and pray for their health. Geshe is truly a living example of the dharma from whom we can take example of his scholarly and humble qualities. Please note: meditations and other practices continue as normal.
(Warning: this monk may change your life.) He is not called The Lam Rim wallah for no reason. Thubten Gyatso, Melbourne doctor and now monk is an international teacher of repute. Funny, erudite and approachable, Gyatso's recent 3-year silent retreat on KI has given him fierce personal insights. You'll know it when you meet him. Treat yourself to an extended non-residential retreat with Gyatso.
Public talk Sunday Jan 31, 3pm: in Milton Room in the Masonic Centre. Weekend Feb 6th and 7th: BH gompa (2 full days of teachings). Tuesdays andThursdays starting February 2: 7:15pm teachings
