Below is an excerpt from a letter from Ven. Roger, Lama Zopa Rinpoche's attendent, regarding the upcoming Blue Mountains Retreat.

Unfortunately for almost the very same reasons as last year Rinpoche has to cancel his trip to Australia.

Rinpoche has just now been requested to organize, sponsor and participate in 100,000 x Tsog offerings to Guru Rinpoche (the same puja as last year) to happen for 7 days starting June 11th at Boudha stupa, Nepal. The puja will also be attended by the same high lamas from Kagyu and Nyingma as well as Rinpoche, Khadro-la and Phari Rinpoche. The purpose of doing this very significant puja is specifically for the current Tibet situation. It was also advised that this would be extremely beneficial for FPMT and all of Rinpoche's activities. In fact we have been advised that this puja of 100,000 tsog offerings to Guru Rinpoche be done each year at this time.

Rinpoche asked me to convey his heartfelt and deepest apologies that he has to cancel his visit to Australia for His Holiness's teachings and to lead the retreat afterwards in the Blue Mountains. Rinpoche hopes that everyone concerned will understand and if you can also pass on to those who were coming to the retreat the reasons why Rinpoche cannot come, as well as his sincere apologies.
