| | Love-Fest Brings Hope at the Community Meeting | | | |
The community meeting held on August 9th attracted strong support from students members and friends. The meeting recognised that we need to work together to cover our 2009/10 predicted loss of $50 - 60,000. Ideas flowed, stories were told and hopes were expressed. But best of all, people committed themselves to pledge funds, take part in fundraising, tell people about the programs, support the day to day life of the centre and plan for the future of Buddha House. The full meeting report will follow soon.

On Thursday 16th July after the teaching we surprised Geshe-la with a birthday cake, gifts, and kata’s. He started laughing and with his limited English he sang happy birthday with us. There was a strong feeling of warmth and closeness between everyone, which was just lovely. Here is a summary of what was said.
| In April, Ven Jamyang attended a special Council for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (CPMT) meeting in France, where 188 participants from 26 countries representing 80 FPMT Buddhist centres and social projects had an opportunity to meet for a week to exchange ideas and discuss Who we are? What we do? And where we are going?

| | A Dharma Club for Children? | | | |
In the past Buddha House offered a regular program for children called Dharma Club. At this time there is no Dharma Club. I am hoping we might be able to re-commence this program, if there is interest. If you are a parent and would like to involve yourself and your children in Dharma Club, please contact me via the office and I will get in contact with you. | | Ven. Jamyang to Study at Lama Tsong Khapa in Italy | | | |
“Dear students and helpers of Buddha House,
In the Dharma we always hear about impermanence, and that things are changing by its very nature. Everything that comes together will separate one day. The time has come for me to leave Buddha House, as Lama Zopa Rinpoche has advised me that it is time for me to study and meditate...
| | 35 Buddhas, and now Vajrasattva | | | |
The 35 Buddhas Purification Practice has been added to the program and will be every Wednesday at 5.30pm (it takes about a half an hour to do and involves prostrations and recitation).
We are now extremely fortunate that Geshe Pema Tsering has agreed to teach a commentary on the ‘Vajrasattva purification practice and 4 opponent powers’ starting Tues August 4th with a permission to practice ceremony on Friday 4th September.
| | The Dharma is alive and well in the Barossa!! | | | |
It was such a blessing to have our kind and respected teacher visit us and explain Buddhism ... We have had a wonderful response from this teaching with some positive emails and a fantastic turnout for meditation. A big thankyou to Lyndy, Adam etc. for bringing Geshe-la to us, and to all those who attended.
Ven. Jamyang begins the "16 Guidelines to a Happy Life" on the 28th of June continuing on Sunday the 26th of July, August 30th and September 27th.
